Austin has been erasing the nickname of ‘Mr. Nobody’ in the first half of the year in the most commanding way possible - by winning. His first win of 2025 came at the Mayhem Classic, against established athletes in Mertens, Khrennikov, Sprague, Hopper, and Malheiros.
He backed that up with a substantially more impressive win at the first WFP Tour Stop against the most stacked field of the year up to that point. En route to that win he had three second place workouts finishes, one third place, and all top eight finishes other than a 50 point scored workout of Indianapolis Pro 4B.
The second half of the year has seen good, but not quite great, finishes from Hatfield. Those consist of a 5th place at the Games, and an 8th place at the second Tour Stop.
All that is to say that Hatfield has elevated very quickly into the upper echelon of men worldwide, including firmly planting himself in the conversation for WFP champion in Copenhagen.
