Roman Khrennikov

Fresh off his win at the second Tour Stop, Khrennikov has reasserted himself into the championship conversation heading into the Finals. Taking a closer look at his individual workout performances in Mesa shows just how competitive the top of the men’s field is.

En route to the top of the podium, His best individual workout finish was third (on the opening workout - the two-mile run). His other two top finishes also came early in the competition with a fourth on Mesa Pro 3 and a sixth on Mesa Pro 2. The real secret to the competition victory was no poor finishes, his lowest being 13th on the one-rep max clean.

Now here’s what’s really wild. At the first Pro Stop, Roman had just as many top-10 finishes (six out of seven), but with one really bad finish, a 27th place on Indianapolis Pro 2, he found himself 44 points off the podium… which resulted in a staggering eighth overall. It’s a steep price to pay with the calibre towards the top in the men’s field!
